if you are interested in 'sitting in' during a rehearsal, we would love to hear from you!
Since 1997, the Capitol Pops has performed a diverse portfolio of high-quality, well-prepared music for thousands of patrons throughout Northern California.
Based in Citrus Heights, the band is a self-supporting, all-volunteer band of 59 members. The musicians represent a wide cross-section of the Sacramento area, ranging in age from high school to 80s.
Always on the lookout for musical talent, the Capitol Pops aims to promote and sponsor student participation in the band. Tax deductible donations to the Capitol Pops scholarship fund provide private music lessons for interested student members.
The band was certified a California Public Benefit Corporation in March 2003 and granted federal nonprofit status 501(c)(3) in June 2004. Tax ID: 90-009016
The Capitol Pops Concert Band is a fully instrumented band of volunteer musicians and workers. The band requires an evaluation of your musical abilities before you will be selected for membership. This is usually accomplished by inviting you to "sit in" and play when an "opening" occurs.
Costs to band members is $50 each year and $35 dollars for a concert shirt. The band meets on Thursday evenings, and our season runs from February to December.
Do you have questions, want to book a concert, or just say hello?
